MLM Prospecting – Do You Have Options If You Hate the Phone?
One of the most popular ways of prospecting for your network marketing business is by buying leads and calling them on the telephone. This method works for a ton of network marketers. However, not everybody likes doing business on the telephone especially with people they don’t know. So are there any really good prospecting options for people who hate the telephone? Sure there are! In fact there are a lot of good options.
There are basically two different types of MLM marketing, online marketing and offline marketing. Here are a few ideas for both:
Online Marketing
1. Social Networking – Social sites like Twitter and Facebook are really popular and once you check them out you’ll see why. They combine fun and marketing at the same time.
2. Blogging – Blogging is fun and easy. Your only cost for a blog is to purchase a domain name or you can start off by using a free blog. Blogging is personal and you can literally write about anything. It’s a great way to talk about your business and again drive traffic to your business website.
3. Video Marketing – People like video. It’s one of the best ways to get the word out about your business or products. Video marketing is free and you don’t have to have the best equipment to benefit from it. Just a computer and a camera and you’re good to go.
Offline Marketing
1. Flyers – simple, cheap and if you do enough of them they can be very effective. You can do them door to door or put them up on bulletin boards around your town and local area.
2. Local meetings – Easily the most popular type of offline marketing. The meeting does all the work for you. Just get the prospects to the meeting and let the meeting pitch the business for you. This is especially great for people who aren’t entirely comfortable pitching the business themselves.
3. Car Signs – You know what I’m talking about. You see them all over don’t you? While car signs can range from cheap to fairly expensive it’s a great way to advertise your business everywhere you go.
4. Face-to-Face – I know, I know, its way too simple and obvious but you would be amazed at how your business can grow if you just strike up a conversation with people you meet during your normal daily activities, at work, at the store, or at your child’s school. Just talk to people, it’s really what the business is all about!
However, if you’re not prospecting face-to-face, then be prepared to eventually pick up the phone. You can generate lots of MLM leads via offline and online marketing but MLM is a relationship building business and so you must eventually speak to your prospects over the phone. When talking to prospects over the phone you simply have a normal conversation as if you were talking to you best friend. No need to sell, simply use the phone to qualify the prospect to see if he/she is someone you would want to work with and then invite them to your website or other tools which explain your MLM opportunity.
